Darren had a number of years working in multi-national accounting firms before starting his own business. During that time Darren obtained his Certified General Accountant and Chartered Accountant designation and completed the In-depth Tax Course, a two-year program tax program which is arguably the highest level of tax training available in Canada. Darren is passionate about helping clients understand the accounting and taxes allowing them to focus on what they do best. When not helping clients succeed he enjoys all things outdoors with his wife and two boys.

Erin has over 28 years of experience servicing the accounting and tax needs of entrepreneurial clients of all sizes. After graduating from Wilfrid Laurier University, Erin joined a regional firm in Niagara that subsequently merged with a national firm. Most recently before joining Darren’s team Erin was a senior manager with one of the big four accounting firms working with a diverse client base. Erin’s focus is on corporate accounting, tax and advisory services. Erin was born in the Ottawa Valley but has spent most of her life in the Niagara Region and currently resides in Jordan Station.

Laura has 30 years' experience in the public accounting sector. Born and raised in Niagara Falls, Laura graduated from Brock University with an Honours Bachelor of Accounting (BAcc) degree in 1994. After graduation she joined a small local firm where she was encouraged to pursue and received the Certified General Accountant (CGA) degree in 1999. Later that year she joined a medium-sized regional firm where she spent 25 years servicing the personal and corporate tax needs of individuals as well as small and medium sized businesses as a Senior Account Manager. During that time, she also received the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation. Laura thrives on building relationships with clients so that they know their tax and accounting needs are in good hands. When not in the office Laura can be found outside soaking in the sights and sounds of nature with her husband and grown daughter either on a long walk, beach chair, bicycle or kayak.

Andrew has always considered himself a numbers guy which led him to graduate from McMaster University with a major in accounting and a goal to better help people understand their business. After gaining in-depth experience in several industries Andrew is now actively helping business owners manage their tax returns and plan for optimized tax outcomes. When Andrew is not in the office crunching numbers he enjoys running, cycling, pina coladas, and getting caught in the rain.

Shashwat is currently enrolled in CPA PEP program. He is gaining his practical experience with time and assists clients with personal and corporate tax returns. He also advises clients for better taxation planning and HST concerns. He is known as Sash among colleagues and clients and resides in Brampton- the flower city.

Johnathan received an Honours Bachelors of Accounting from Brock university. He is currently working towards his CPA designation. Before working at Darren Bruce, CPA Johnathan worked in tax, audit and accounting. Johnathan currently resides in the Niagara region and enjoys outdoor activities.

Alyce has been specializing in both accounting and corporate taxes for small to medium owner managed business since she began practicing accounting. She has a passion for helping small businesses succeed. Alyce obtained her CPA, CA designation in 2017 and earned a place on the Honour Roll for the September 2016 Common Final Examination. In her free time, Alyce enjoys spending time with her family, being active, and honing her musical abilities.

David graduated from the Honours Bachelor of Accounting program from Brock University after spending co-op terms at Darren Bruce, CPA. He assists clients with personal and corporate tax compliance and advising clients on accounting matters. When not in the office David enjoys spending time with his wife and newborn and playing board games with his friends and family.

Penny brings over 20 years of administrative experience in Office Management, Human Resources, and various accounting practices. She assists in the development and implementation of firm policies and procedures; manages and overseas the administration team. Aids on HR policies, programs, and practices within the firm; she maintains accounts payables, accounts receivables and client billing. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and grown children, exploring Northern Ontario, biking, boating, and fishing.

For Nash, life is all about balance, and as any bookkeeper knows, balance is key. Nash, a Niagara on the Lake native, worked as a bookkeeper for several years and enjoyed the challenges his role allowed him. Fueled by this passion, he decided to pursue the Accounting Program at Niagara College. His years of experience and academic achievements make him the perfect professional to help guide you through all things numbers.

Balancing a spreadsheet in one hand and a hiking pole in the other, Nash exemplifies the art of harmonizing professional excellence with personal passions. Whether he's meticulously managing accounts or whipping up a culinary feast, Nash approaches each endeavor with the same dedication and enthusiasm. His ability to seamlessly transition from the boardroom to the backcountry is a testament to his adaptability and zest for life.

Michelle joined our team in January of 2019 as an office administrator. She brings with her over 30 years of providing a high dedication to client service from retail, restaurant, legal, and corporate environments. It is this passion for delivering an extraordinary client experience that drives her. She approaches all aspects of any job with a positive, hard-working mindset, and goes the extra mile to assist our clients. She has over 13 years of experience in the accounting environment overseeing bookkeeping, payroll, remittances and personal and corporate tax files. With DBCPA she oversees many aspects of the office; however, her focus is related to the processes pertaining to the personal and corporate tax files. In her spare time, Michelle enjoys crafts, yoga, reading, and spending time with her family and friends.

Anne has 30 years of tax experience helping personal tax clients with their tax matters. Anne has expertise in personal taxes in all provinces and has most recently been dealing with insolvency tax administration. When Anne is not reducing client's personal tax liabilities she spends her time reading, enjoying music and crafts, and of course spending time with her family.
